Keeping it in the family. This one (17 year old nursing student) hung herself yesterday morning, a few weeks after her older brother killed himself. Her friends claimed that the two events were unrelated, however, and that she mostly strung herself up due to a breakup with the boyfriend.

It looks like she's wearing the exact same thing in her 'alive' pictures that she died in. Used some sort of an electrical cable to get the job done. Judging by how far her tongue is protruding and the level of livor in her legs, I suspect she's been hanging for several hours in the photos.

Teenagers often lack perspective, hence they do not realize life does go on even after the most heartbreaking break-up and that they'll learn to manage their emotions better. I used to be one of these teens, however I obviously didn't off myself

Didn't stop and think of her parents, how they would feel losing both kids to suicide.

Rational thoughts are not part of the suicide process, unfortunately. If they were then there wouldn't be 99% of the suicides that happen.

Maybe it's genetic to slip into a suicidal depression when something happens that upsets them

Isn't that how most of us are when we are/were teenagers!? Teenagers are notoriously selfish. Poor kid didn't give herself long enough to mature!

Suicide is a possible solution.

It does stop the pain.


What awaits on 'the other side' is another matter entirely.

It is a solution & may stop the pain, but I will never understand it.

We were all young once & took everything that happened as the end of the world.. and it is not. Such a tragedy that some young people aren't able to grow past that.
