Another Hanging Suicide
Dominican woman (37) was found hanging from a guava tree. The case is treated as probable suicide due to economic problems. The bleeding left foot and some bruises on her body are suspicious, but might be inflicted as she climbed on that tree. |

Re: Another Hanging Suicide
One effective method to end your own life. I've seen it all here on DR (and Ogrish, back in the day). I think demographics and location play a vital role in your suicide method of choice. Where do all the shotgun suicides come from? US & Russia, mostly. Hanging suicides are more prevalent in third-world societies, and this includes Dominica (but also India and Mexico). If you don't have access to a Remington, use a rope. Done deal. Just don't expect it to be a quick process. |

Re: Another Hanging Suicide
Oops, this one was in my queue but you beat me to it. Looks like you got all the good pics, though. Thanks! Additional notes. The coroner determined that it was suicide by hanging. The bruises mentioned in the above article referred to injuries on her knee and shin, likely related to the source of the blood since there was no blood above her knee, only below it and down to the foot. All that said, coroner work can be rather sloppy in some of these countries, so who knows. Many of her friends and family are still claiming murder, but they're like making inappropriate assumptions at this point. The blood on the knee and shin and foot is a bit odd, yes. But otherwise this looks like every other hanging we've seen here. And the blood can easily be explained, as SDI mentioned, with an injury due to climbing the tree or even thrashing against it in the noose if she was swinging hard enough. |

Re: Another Hanging Suicide
You ask every time and every time the answer is no, man. As I have explained before, I will sometimes provide detailed autopsy reports from cases in the US, but not photos. Never ever photos. You're just going to have to learn to be satisfied with Latins, Asians, and the very occasional Russian.

Re: Another Hanging Suicide
No, it is confirmed as blood. But the source of the blood is a series of small injuries to her lower leg. Sometimes if a woman is on the rag when she hangs, blood will leak over time and run down the leg. Sometimes there is blood mixed with the urine and/or feces (both commonly released during hanging suicides) because vessels break down very quickly after death. These things can and do periodically happen in hangings, especially where more than 12 or 15 hours have gone by since TOD. But none of those things were the case here. The blood originates at the knee and shin and drips downward from there. |

Re: Another Hanging Suicide
I like the the thought of picking top the way you go. All my friends have in some way committed suicide. I like the idea of doing something for ones own self. I would like to pick the place an way. But just not good at the timing part..lol I want to be old. Even though I'm evil I still have a lot of good in me left..lol |
