The first murder of May in the Caruaru area , was on Sunday evening (01) . The victim, 24 , was shot to death while sleeping in a friend 's house,he left his friend sleeping and when he returned, he found his friend dead on the mattress, he called the military police to report it.

Reminds me of when I went to Puerto Vallarta several years ago. A young guy asked me to please buy him a blanket and he was hungry. Bought him a blanket and went to a restaurant with him to feed him. He said he had an "apartment" up the street, so we picked up a six pack and headed there. Damn, sure wasn`t what I expected, I only peeked my head inside the "doorway" and there was no electricity, no plumbing, no water , dirt floor and just a little mattress on the dirt floor. I gave him 50 bucks and headed to my hotel. Damn, he was excited to get that 50 bucks, it probably fed him for a month. It was hard to grasp the reality of all the fancy hotels on the beach and just blocks up the road, living conditions were terrible. I never went back there.

The state of the house shocks me more

It's sad and makes me truly thankful for my humble abode.

Kinda puts things in perspective when we see dives like this.... as we sit down at our computers to view it. Very thankful for sure!
