American Joseph Gildred, 41, Found Dead at Siem Reap Hotel, August 13, 2018
American national Joseph Daniel Gildred was 41 when he was found dead in his room at the Golden Butterfly Villa hotel in Siem Reap, Cambodia, on August 13, 2018, two days after checking in. At the scene, Siem Reap Referral Hospital physician Dr Kong Rithy said a stroke had caused his death, but this was not an autopsy conclusion and no account mentions a post-mortem. Medication packets found in the room included dihydrocodeine, diazepam and paracetamol. Although an overdose was suggested, the reporting contains nothing to support that interpretation. An initial account gave his age as 40, while the police report relayed at the time listed him as 41.

Joseph came to experience everything Cambodia has to offer. The culture, the History. Sadly like so many other western culture lovers, his is a one way trip. R.I.P. |
