Agnes Luang Killed by a Crocodile in Baram, Sarawak, February 2017
On February 21, 2017, at about 6:30pm, Agnes Luang, a school leaver variously reported as 17 or 18, was bathing with her mother at the longhouse jetty on Sungai Tapang Peking in Baram, Marudi district, Sarawak, Malaysia, when a crocodile took her. It pulled her into the river in the presence of her mother and the longhouse chief. Her largely intact body was found about two kilometres downstream the following morning. The family refused a post mortem, and police recorded the case as sudden death caused by a crocodile attack. Local reporting says the longhouse chief shot a crocodile believed to have been responsible in November 2018.  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·  · |

Poor croc  .Pretty intact for a croc attack. Probably drowned then was released by a confused croc  |

MIRI, Feb 22 — The body of a teenage girl was found floating this morning in the Sungai Tapang Peking Baram in Marudi after she was attacked by a crocodile while bathing with her mother yesterday. Marudi Fire and Rescue Department chief Zulbada Alior said the body of Agnes Luang, 17, was found at 11.10am about two kilometres from where she was attacked. The body was in good condition with only a crocodile bite on it, he told Bernama when contacted today. In the 6.30pm incident, the victim, who was waiting for the results of her Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination, was attacked and dragged underwater by a crocodile while bathing in the river near the Rumah Panjang Japang. — Bernama |
