Agent Orange Victims in Vietnam (Sprayed 1962-1971)
The United States sprayed some 19 to 20 million gallons of herbicides, mostly Agent Orange, over South Vietnam and border areas between January 1962 and 1971 under Operation Ranch Hand. The dioxin contaminant is linked to cancers and severe birth defects that continue into later generations, which is what these photographs show; at least one image in the set dates from 2006, decades after the war. The dates in the original post were wrong and are corrected here. |
