I'd say he hit a couple of things on the way down which is why there is such a mess around him. Some of it would have been caused by the impact alone, for sure... but the body would not have bounced so much around that area, unless it came in on an angle and hit the surrounding walls, glancing off them in a flailing, cartwheel-like fashion.
