The heavy metal poison, arsenic was one of the best embalming fluids that had ever been used. It was outlawed for embalming usage in the US early in the 20th century. Most have probably seen some of the bodies that arsenic was used as part of the embalming fluid, ie: Evita Paron, Lenin, Stalin, and a host of other well known, well preserved bodies. It was usually mixed with glycerin and phenol, to make a super strength fluid that would not allow any of the normal decomp bacteria to live and do their job of reducing the body to remnants.
