7 People were slaughtered last night (19th July 2018) in Porto Alegre. 6 people died at the scene, 2 more were taken to the hospital where the 7th person died.

Witnesses state that there was a hail of gunfire from a taxi.

the property was used by drug users and at that moment 20 people were using drugs. 33 yo Rita was the other one that was killed plus she was 8 months pregnant so that adds one more to the death toll.

I did put in the post that one of the women was 8 months pregnant but then deleted it. The news story I found that info on, also stated that the woman's family deny that she was pregnant. Also looking at the photos, neither of those women look 8 months pregnant.

women don't always get big bellies when they're pregnant. I didn't realize this chick sitting next to me in highschool was pregnant til she told me. She had the baby a couple months later.

couldn't find that vilmar guy being mentioned as deceased but maybe he was the guy in critical condition.

"One of the two dead women was about eight months pregnant. One of the brutal aspects of the slaughter that occurred on Thursday night (19) in the northern part of Porto Alegre was the murder of two women - one of them pregnant with eight months, and the other with suspected gestation not confirmed by medical care.

The Civil Police reported on Friday morning (20), at a news conference, that it was not possible to attempt an emergency delivery.

Rita Borba de Aguiar, 32, was a drug user and had been assisted by neighbors with food on account of her pregnancy. The woman would be about eight months pregnant. The victim was shot in the head and was lying at the door, just outside the house. The woman was already dead when the police arrived.

According to delegate Paulo Grillo, director of the Homicide Department, when police were informed that the woman was pregnant the medical distress was triggered to try an emergency procedure.

The medical team would have found, however, that the fetus was already dead. Samu confirmed the pregnancy, about eight months. But unfortunately she was very weak because of the use of narcotics. And so there was no condition to try a delivery, a cesarean, "he said.

The other dead woman, identified as Najara Katiane Schumacher Pereira, 30, was also dead when police were called. She had reported to relatives she suspected she was pregnant.

However, according to the delegate Gabriel Bicca of the Homicide Department, Samu's help did not confirm this information. The suspicion will be checked during necropsy.

There was this suspicion that she was pregnant. Samu was there, did tests and did not confirm the pregnancy, "he said.

Even if the pregnancy is confirmed, the death of the fetuses will not be considered murder and will not be counted among the total deaths in the slaughter. According to the delegate Grillo, legally the murder can only occur after the birth.

"It's a shocking crime, no doubt, even for seasoned police officers," he said.

The other victims
The seven victims of the slaughter - considered the largest of the century in Porto Alegre - were identified, including Najara. Among the dead are Adriano Müller Guimarães, 35, with a history of robbery, robbery and possession of narcotics. He had been the victim of attempted murder in 2012. The man came to be rescued, but died in the hospital.

The elderly Breno Eli Silva de Freitas, 71, was also murdered at the scene. According to police, he had a ticket for theft.
