Not entirely sure what the problem was, but this 36 year old prison guard pout a .38 bullet into his 32-year old wife's eye and then another into his own dome. Only two shots were fired from the weapon, which lay between the two corpses on the floor when police arrived. The couple's friends and family all reported that they had been married for a long time and were generally happy and successful. Neither had drug problems, though the husband was previously treated for depression. Neighbors said they heard no fighting or arguing preceding the gunshots. There were several empty bottles present and it is presumed (though not yet confirmed by tox screen) that both parties were intoxicated at the time of death.
