A shootout between police and a group ended with the death of three people in Itabela.
According to information from the Military Police, at around 5pm, the garrison military police received information that a house in the Rua Espirito Santo, Bandeirantes neighborhood was hiding several armed men.

On reaching the house, the military police were greeted by gunfire and trying to suppress the action, the police returned fire which eventually resulted in the immediate death of two suspects and a third was taken to the hospital but could not resist his injuries and died hours later.


With them, the police found three handguns.
According to police the men possessed strong connection with trafficking in the city and were suspected of involvement in various crimes and an attempted murder that had occurred in recent days in the city, and had been terrorizing the population.
