29 Yo Woman Shot Dead in Her Home in the Presence of Children
Updated with pics and vid further down in the thread 19 april 2012. Three men shot a housewife, 29 yo, who lived in a shack in slum settlement ("favela"). Her husband was also hit with head shots, but was rescued in a critical condition. He died in hospital in the early morning 20 april. Witnesses reported that the couple had just finished dinner when the bandits arrived. The man was the first hit. He was outside the hut and had time to run into it, but was chased and shot. His wife, who was sitting in bed watching the scene tried to escape but was also hit with shots to the head and died instantly. Three children of the victims, children aged 3, 6 and 8 years, were in the shack. While the youngest slept, the others ran away, seeking shelter among the huts. The couple had a son (13 yo), who was killed last March 22 as he played domino in front of the shack where they lived. He was shot in the back by some teenage robbers on the flee. The actual crime is investigated following two lines: 1) The parents had identified the killers of their son, or 2) an ongoing fight in the area on control of drugs supply. New source mention only drugtrafficking and says that the man was the primary target. A personal comment: The killed son was 13 a year ago, which means that the mother was 15 when she got him.
