Mariz Umali (reporter): The wake of 27-year-old Jennifer Taburada is being held. Taburada was shot by two men riding on a motorcycle while walking around Barangay Bagong Barrio, Caloocan, last July 18. She sustained gunshot wounds to the head and body, that resulted in her immediate death.
Jennifer Taburada's mother: It's so hard to accept that she was widowed early. And now, the mother is gone. The assailants have no conscience.
Jennifer Taburada's older daughter: It's so painful. I hope there will be justice.
Jennifer Taburada's younger son: I love her. I will study hard even without her.
Mariz Umali (reporter): Last year, Jennifer's boyfriend was murdered. Police suspect that there is only one suspect who killed the two. It was pointed out by "Budyong" (might not be the exact spelling) that aside from Jennifer's boyfriend's murder, she was almost raped in March 2018.
Jennifer Taburada's sister: He liked Jennifer, but she didn't accept him. And then, he whipped her head with the gun, and then he held her at gunpoint. He threatened her to kill them both.
Mariz Umali (reporter): This was confirmed by the investigation unit of Caloocan police.
Police Senior Inspector Felipe Fermin Jr.: She reported to the police. The suspect became infuriated, and that's when he threatened her. This is where the victim was shot.
Mariz Umali (reporter): Aside from Jennifer and her boyfriend, "Budyong" is invovled in another murder in November 2016. On a CCTV footage, "Budyong" can be seen walking, with his head covered with blanket. When he approached a woman named Jennifer Espiritu, he immediately shot her. He can be seen placing shabu (methamphetamine, according to Scene of the Crime Operatives) on the victim's pocket. When the suspect reloaded his gun, he shot Espiritu again to make sure she is lifeless. Because his head was covered, part of his face can be seen on CCTV.
Police Senior Inspector Felipe Fermin Jr.: Jennifer Espiritu told woman to "Budyong". That woman who was searched by "Budyong", she was reportedly pregnant by "Budyong". She (the former) could not tell "Budyong" the exact location of the target, she was targeted, and then murdered by "Budyong".
Mariz Umali (reporter): The result shows that the victims and "Budyong" live in the same barangay. But, he goes suddenly missing when he is going to commit the crime. So, the manhunt operation on "Budyong" by police is ongoing.
Police Senior Inspector Felipe Fermin Jr.: He is boastful in that place, and he is the leader of a gang. He is notorious for killings.
Mariz Umali (reporter): Due to fears, the victim's family will not interfere with the suspect.
Jennifer Taburada's mother: I'm so scared. God knows.
Mariz Umali (reporter): I'm Mariz Umali, from Saksi (Witness).
