25 Year Old Woman Shot By Ex-Husband
An all-too-common case in Brazil. It is getting a little more coverage than usual down there because, unlike the usual ghetto assassinations that occur on an hourly basis, the shooter in this case was a well-off owner of a cell phone retailer and his ex-wife was a pretty, young university student about to graduate with a Psych degree. They separated several months ago, allegedly due to his jealous rages. He stalked her repeatedly, prompting her to file several police reports. They were followed through and some sort of restraining order was granted. Unfortunately for her, he wasn't interested in restraint. So last night he approached an outdoor bar where she was sitting with several friends and fired three times. Two shots hit her in the head. Reports conflict, one saying that she tried to run and was shot in the back of the head, with another saying he shot her in the face. My amateur crime scene analysis is thwarted to some degree by the poor lighting and low resolution of the photos. The bullet wounds seem to be on the back of her head, lending weight to the story that he shot her from behind. The blood pool would seem to support this, as would the frontal pattern of urine staining from where she voided her bladder while dying. It spreads up past her right pocket, supporting the theory that she was lying on her front against the ground when she wet herself. I would guess that they then flipped her over for the photos. I am confused, however, because she seems to have been wearing some sort of little jacket/sweatshirt over her tanktop. It is on her body in the face-up shots, but removed and lying next to her head (left side) in the face-down shot. I can't imagine why they would put the jacket on her body AFTER they flip her over. So...slightly confused there. But with bad lighting and no time-stamps, speculation is the best I can muster. As for the ex-hubby he initially took flight to his car, which was parked about three blocks away. Once there, he apparently decided he was proper fucked and shot himself in the temple with the same gun. |

She probably died on her back, and they took off her jacket when they flipped her over. Poor girl, that could have been me. I had an abusive ex. May she rest in PARADISE... |

Re: 25 Year Old Woman Shot By Ex-Husband
Was literally going to say that ha. I think she died on her back as well. Been studying Criminal Justice for several years as my major. Looks like they removed it when they turned her after the initial photos and scene investigation occurred with her as they found her. Sadly many women who leave abusive relationships end up stalked and killed. The first 6 months after a break-up from that sort of relationship are always the most dangerous. =/ Poor girl. |

Re: 25 Year Old Woman Shot By Ex-Husband
I can see the argument for that. Still a bit skeptical due to the apparent entry wounds in the back of her skull and I also find it odd that they'd flip her face down into her own pool of blood. That and the urine stain really looks more like she was lying face down when it happened. Pee doesn't typically flow upward, as it would have had to have done if she'd been lying on her back. Still, it is the only plausible explanation for the jacket. Makes no sense that they'd put it on after flipping her face-up, so you could be right. I'm sure you've got more experience analyzing crime scenes than I do if you're a CJ major. |

She died on her back or at least that is how she was when the cops showed up and started taking pictures, they flipped her and took off her top to examine her. She could have initially been face down and her friends or others, once gunman left, flipped her to see if she was alive or to render aid.

Re: 25 Year Old Woman Shot By Ex-Husband
I really hate this. In my country it's becoming really an issue. Italy is a small country, nevertheless we count almost 50 women killed their husbands, boyfriends, lovers etc. From the beginnig of this Year. It means one every 3 days. And I'm only talking about killed women. Teh abused ones are maybe 50 times that number. I used to work for an association who tries to help abused women - at least in denouncing - and we used to asnwer to hundreds of calls every month... Sorry for the OT... |
