On December 11, 2010, a planned suicide bombing in central Stockholm failed when Taimour Abdulwahab al-Abdaly was the only person killed. At about 4:48 p.m., a car carrying gas canisters exploded on Olof Palmes gata near the Drottninggatan shopping street. Roughly twelve minutes later, his device detonated early on Bryggargatan, a few hundred meters away. Taimour Abdulwahab al-Abdaly, 28, was an Iraqi-born Swedish citizen living in Luton, England. He had six ball-bearing-filled pipe bombs, a pressure cooker device, and a backpack containing explosives and nails, though only one pipe bomb exploded. Two people were injured. Investigators concluded that dozens could have died if the attack had gone as planned. Minutes before the explosions, he emailed a threat to the Swedish security service and the TT news agency, referring to Sweden's troops in Afghanistan and the Lars Vilks Muhammad drawings. Swedish prosecutors concluded he acted alone and closed the investigation.

The cylinders could well be small pipe bombs, a maximum one hundred grams each, but probably less than that. The pipes from the cylinders should be between the pipes electrical wiring to ignite bombs.
