20 Year Old Man Shot Dead by Military Police
L.F.V. perpetrated several robberies upon businesses and residences in Coari, Brazil. His last crime was to attack a military police officer in a dark stretch of the Estrada do Pêra, near the center of the municipality at 10:30pm on 28th of August 2018. Armed with a rifle, L.F.V. pointed the gun at the victim, and demanded his wallet and cell phone, unaware that he was stealing from a military police officer from Coari's barracks. As he was handing over his valuables, the military police officer had the chance to remove his firearm and defend himself. Even though he had been shot, L.F.V. still had the strength to shoot the military policeman, who suffered only minor injuries but still had to be treated at the Coari Regional Hospital. After receiving hospital treatment, the soldier appeared at the Coari Police Station, where he gave his version and claimed self-defence during the robbery attempt in which he killed the dangerous burglar.    L.F.V. was considered highly dangerous and had escaped the Coari police station in June this year (even though handcuffed) when he was removed from the car after being arrested on charges of rape and other crimes.   |
