2 Young Women Try (and Fail) To Outrun Grim Reaper in a Taxi
Sometimes I guess there's just no getting away. This chica, let's call her Michell, hooked up with the wrong hombre, as is so often the case down Mexico way. It seems that her beau (pictured antemortem with her below) had racked up a serious list of enemies and reckoning day was close at hand. Her Saturday morning started out simply enough, with a lunch date alongside her barrio banger boyfriend. Trouble arose quickly, however. As the two were meeting in front of a cafe, two men on motorcycles approached and started shooting. Michell saw them coming and managed to duck behind cover and flee, panicked, into the scattering crowd. Her man, however, did not fare near so well. He was riddled with bullets and died at the scene. Doubtless appreciative of her good luck, Michell ran several blocks from the scene to the home of her good friend, Lizzie and invoked the ancient rite of Gang Chica Sanctuary. Lizzie, honor-bound by hallowed codes to agree, let her take refuge there, in case the killers were still looking for her. The two hung out all afternoon, keeping a low profile aside from a few social media posts.  When evening came, they thought the coast would surely be clear and decided to make a break for safe environs. They hailed a cab and got into the back seat. Alas, it seems everything was pre-destined and accounts were to be settled one way or the other. Whether Michell was targeted only because she escaped her boyfriend's fate or whether she was marked from the outset is unknown. What is known is that the cab managed to make it about 4 meters down the road before being stopped in traffic, at which time two men on motorcycles approached from either side. They discharged about 10 rounds from handguns into the back seat of the cab. The taxi driver was not injured, but it was curtains for the jovencitas. The cabbie said he thinks Lizzie was killed instantly, but that Michell was screaming and tried to duck down onto the floorboards. In the end, it doesn't seem to have mattered, though. The first three antemortem photos are of Michell and the next two are of her unlucky friend Lizzie. For the postmortem photos, Liz is the one sitting behind the driver's seat and Michell is in the rather unflattering 'ass up' position beside her.  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·  · |

Loved the write-up and is it just me or does that photo of her and the boyfriend make the death less tragic? "We're so hip an cool, look at my ripped jeans"  Shootout to the shooters for not killing the cabby, that was really nice.  |
