El pueblo enardecido ató con una cuerda el cadáver y arrastrado por una camioneta lo condujeron a la explanada de palacio municipal de La Reforma, en donde fue reclamado por su esposa Emma Vásquez García, de 23 años de edad, originaria de Matías Romero.

La viuda precisó que ignoraba las licitas actividades de su cónyuge Hugo García Cruz, de 34 años de edad, originario de la colonia Cuauhtémoc, perteneciente a Matías Romero.

Para ese momento los pobladores que se hicieron justicia por su propia mano acordaron sacar de la cárcel a Lauro Riaño Osorio y al lograrlo lo llevaron a la explanada de palacio municipal en donde lo tundieron a golpes hasta dejarlo moribundo y enseguida lo remataron de cuando menos veinte balazos.

Cabe mencionar que elementos de la Policía Municipal de La Reforma, como uniformados de Seguridad Pública del Estado, por negligencia y miedo, observaron de lejos las dos ejecuciones.
