19 YO Girl Killed by Train
Sorry for watermarks. This cute girl, not so cute after death, apparently didn't hear the train and got killed... It's stated as an accident, not a suicide, but I don't understand how the hell you can not hear a train... And why walk in the train rails if not for be killed? So maybe a suicide after all... |

Re: 19 YO Girl Killed by Train
She could have been wearing headphones, or there may have been a train approaching from the opposite direction at the same time, and disguised the sound of the train that hit her. We had a pair of cops who were killed by a train last year because they couldn't hear it over the sound of another incoming train.

Re: 19 YO Girl Killed by Train
Depending on where the rails are, the scenery can be really nice, or the rails are a nice shortcut between two points. My friends and i used to walk on, or alongside, Metra tracks when we were in our teens. That being said, if the rails are still in use, one needs to be constantly vigilant to make sure they don't get struck by a train.

Re: 19 YO Girl Killed by Train
We had tracks behind our house, and besides waving at the trains when we were little, we used them as excellent walking routes, with 0 traffic. It's quiet, (except when a train is passing) they have bridges over every obstruction, and it IS very scenic. When it's raining, they have good drainage, so there is never a puddle. There is very little snow on them in the winter time, because the trains just blow it away as they pass. If you are stepping on the ties, it is like walking on a completely flat surface. (If it was the times of the apocalypse, I would travel along the tracks instead of on a road, like the idiots in "Mad Max" do)
