It also makes me quite cynical with respect to such apparent expressions of empathy which, I suspect, are in many cases (I don't claim to know about any particular individual in this regard - just expressing a general suspicion) merely implicit rationalizations and justifications for viewing this stuff in the first place. Like I said earlier, if this stuff is heartbreaking for someone, why do they come here and view it?

Theres nothing wrong in expressing an opinion about something I see on here, is there? As a parent myself, I find the death of a child, any child, particularly sad. Have you got kids? Maybe I feel it more keenly because I have kids; I have a daughter not much older than this girl, so, yeah, I do find it heartbreaking. I look at the stuff on here the same as everybody else looks at it; some people arent affected by it, some people are.

we like dr because much here is real. no white wash no cover ups no upper/lower class. it always brings us down the fact that death and danger knows no bounds. some may think we are psychos but a thought like that work both ways. Maybe they are the psychos and they want to make themselves believe that everyone is like them. Seing these in DR makes us aware that no matter what we do, what we achieve, what we think we are capable of, one slip and these can happen to any of us.
If we just watch scripted and censored news that someone died. we say ok, that was them not me and just go your normal attitude. But if you saw the aftermath here, you begin to be conscious of everything you do and your surrounding. wanting to get real doesnt mean liking it that much.
