11 Men Found Dead, 9 Mutilated, Caborca-Sonoyta Highway, Sonora, June 4, 2009
Eleven men were found dead in a white GMC Yukon on the shoulder of the Caborca-Sonoyta international highway in Sonora, Mexico, at about 5:30 a.m. on June 4, 2009. Nine of the bodies had been mutilated, with hands and legs severed. Federal agents had pursued the SUV before it left the road. The driver fled on foot, leaving the vehicle with its engine running. The grammar in the first sign is terrible and can't barely be read.
