Actually you misheard since the first part got cut off. The black man apparently took exception to the old guys shiny shoes and said "why a brother gotta spit shine your shoes" and the old guy thought he was offering to shine his shoes and asked how much he would charge for the service. Nice of you to admit the black man was just a low down *****. But he liked using that word as well.
