Bait Car Video Shows Car Burglar Taking Navigation Unit

DALLAS, Texas The navigation unit in the car is all part of a trap.

The goal: Lure in car burglars.

Police call one man they got video of a seasoned pro.

It takes him just 25 seconds to pull up, smash out the window grab his loot and take off.

"Once the equipment gets taken, we're notified that our equipment has been stolen," explains Dallas Police Lieutenent Paul Stokes.

Unlike before Police don't have to sit on the car and wait.

Instead a patrol vehicle is dispatched to track the bogus navigation unit or lap top.

Dallas Police are now taking the program from testing phase to full deployment.

They'll soon be placing the burglar bait throughout Dallas in an effort to stop the crime that until now appeared to be un-stoppable.

No grey area mate. They broke into a locked vehicle & stole valuables. If it wasnt this decoy it would have been yours or some other law abiding citizen. I would rather it be the decoy.
