It was a 155 howitzer round that did not explode, so the militia were trying to dig it out, probably to keep the insurgents from getting it and turning it into a IED.

God damn!! Half of you have brains, the other half probably have American Flag underwear!!! How can you say they were insurgents when they were reeeemoooooviiiiing the explosive device??????? I can understand one saying they were retards, but I don't see any Americans removing IEDs... But my question is, unless those guys on the ground radioed that guy in the air that "oh hey, yes, this is a 155, we will just try to dig it out for you Americans." "NOOOOOO YOU FOOOOOOLS!!! DON'T DO IT< YA GIDDY BASTARDS!!" You tell me what really happened. |

I support the troops. Ok? I understand that some folks here may think otherwise, but I am all for someone removing the bad guys. But, by looking at certain videos of insurgents planting those bombs....I have determined that they leave a hell of a mess. (There is probably going to be some patriotic asscluck of a response for this, but...) How can you not see a huge pile of loose dirt on a flat dirt road? Would that not raise a few 'brows?  "Whoah, looks like someone wanted to have a garden IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD!!!" No, but they are called "roadside" bombs by the news, but who knows...none of us are out there, so what do we know?

Great post ! They werent terrorists ! They were local malitia men , friendly to the coalition forces ! In other words they were local Iraqi men ,policing there own area ! Who were more than likely armed by the US forces , to keep the area stable and under control !  !
