Street Children of the Ukraine

According to official statistics provided by the Ukrainian government, approximately 50,000 street children live in Ukraine, 12,000 of those in Kiev.

Street children live in abhorrent conditions including basements, abandoned buildings, city garbage sites, and sewage systems. The majority of street children suffer from various diseases caused by their living conditions and lifestyles.

Same thing in Brazil. Probably same everywhere. Sucks.

There is a problem, not quite as bad, in the U.S. Some are kicked out by mom's new boy friend. Lots of reasons. If you ever meet one, have them call the Nine Line. 1-800-999-9999 They'll try to help. They can also put through an anonymous call to home.
