Spontaneous human combustion (SHC) is the alleged burning of a person's body without a readily apparent, identifiable external source of ignition. The combustion may result in simple burns and blisters to the skin, smoking, or a complete incineration of the body. The latter is the form most often 'recognized' as SHC.

There is much speculation and controversy over SHC. It is not a proven natural occurrence, but many theories have attempted to explain SHC's existence and how it may occur. The two most common explanations offered to account for apparent SHC are the non-spontaneous "wick effect" fire, and the rare discharge called static flash fires. Although mathematically it can be shown that the human body contains enough energy stored in the form of fat and other tissues to consume it completely, in normal circumstances bodies will not sustain a flame on their own.

Ahhh.. I love these kind of things! I'm not sure if it's fake or not, and one day I shall find out more information on it. Some things that people think are pretty fake are actually not.. Such as disappearing without a trace (it can happen.) Not everything should be assumed as real, and not everything should be assumed as fake.

shc is real...there have been lots of reports and documentries about this...old show sightings even did an episode on it...and there are some recent photos of this too...those look fake cuz they are old pics...but i've seen them before and i believe they are real

This aint fake, its a rare phenomenon. I saw a documentary about it once. usually human skin is very hard to burn, it just goes black and hard. but in some wierd cases, they find people like this who appear to have burned from the inside out, compleatly insinerating their body (which is very hard to do) no-one knows how it happens they once found a guy dead in his home, totally insinerated, but no fire damage to anything else in the room?!?!

I don't know why, but while this phenomenon legs are left unburn. I personally don't know if to believe this or not, but i guess its possible. There are some very natural and scientifically explainable situations of animals combusting, so why not humans?
