The Death of Colleen Slemmer: A Case of Teenage Murder
Colleen Slemmer was a 19-year-old student at the Knoxville Job Corps Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. On January 13, 1995, she was lured to a remote area of the University of Tennessee's agricultural campus by three of her classmates: Christa Pike, then 18, Shadolla Peterson, 18, and Tadaryl Shipp, 17. Pike, who had a history of psychological problems, believed that Slemmer was trying to steal her boyfriend. Pike and Shipp attacked Slemmer, with Pike doing most of the damage. They beat, slashed, and stabbed her with a meat cleaver and a box cutter. Pike carved a pentagram into Slemmer's chest before killing her. The attack lasted between 30 minutes and an hour. After the murder, Pike kept a piece of Slemmer's skull as a souvenir. The perpetrators, along with two other Job Corps students, returned to the scene to destroy evidence and hide the body, which was discovered the next day. Pike and Shipp were arrested and charged with murder. In March 1996, Pike was convicted of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder. She was sentenced to death, becoming the youngest woman to be sentenced to death in the United States since the reinstatement of the death penalty in 1976. Shipp pleaded guilty and received a life sentence with the possibility of parole. The victim, Colleen Slemmer, is pictured second to last. Christ Pike's photo is the last one. |

Re: The Death of Colleen Slemmer: A Case of Teenage Murder
It amazes and amuses me that Christa went to such an extreme over such an ugly black kid. Tadaryl was very much to blame; he was there with Christa when she killed Colleen and knew what her intentions were. He even tripped Colleen when she tried to run away from Christa, and I believe he was the one who carved the pentagram into her chest. Needless to say now, Christa and Tadaryl haven't spoken since before they were convicted. So much for a love to kill for! She was even hitting on reporters at the court proceedings. |

Another useless killing. It just amazes me that some can take a life as easy as taking out the trash. I feel bad for her. |

And over a guy--really? Shit I'd be more apt to fuck HIM up than the other girl. I mean, I'd beat her ass but I wouldn't KILL her.

That's actually where I got these pics. They were in the book "A Love To Die For" by Burl Barer. I couldn't find any of the death pictures on the internet.
