 "The Askania-Nova Biosphere Reserve in Kherson Oblast is now under the control of the occupiers. Until now, despite the occupation, the Ukrainian administration has been working there, but on March 20, the occupiers added the reserve to the Russian register and appointed their own director."

As long as the animals are being taken care of and get to keep their reserve, who cares who controls it? Russian hands are just as capable.

I’m sure Ukrainians care.  And I’ve seen some horrific things Russians have done with animals in other areas that I can’t even stand to think about. Barns full of horses burned alive. Mass slaughter of geese. Slaughter of zoo animals for food. And others starved to death or bombed.
