my uncle was in the english army he was stationed in ireland and he got married to a woman there in the 80's on the wedding a black millitery van was suppose to pick my mom and dad up and bring them to the wedding from the air port in belfast they changed there mind at the last minute and sent a differnt car that van was sent to bring other soilders to a charity race.. on the way to that race the van was blown up by the IRA turns out they had put a car bomb on it.. thats how close the IRA came to killing my parents |

Wow!!! close call dude. My friend was based out there and lost an eye in a bomb blast, he was trying to help some locals to safety at the time  . Thanks for sharing that with us  |

It was a long time ago so physically he is fine now thanks, but he like many other soldiers who served out there still has the mental scars! He's a geordie ( from Newcastle) you should see him on a bad day after a few Newcastle Browns!! Stand well back |
