Do any users here support russia? Just curious.
Sure, but they tend to get banned due to shit talking.

The user right above your comment is pro-russia.

Yes, idiots are everywhere. Yesterday, my eight year old son told me, he heard somwhere that US has never landed people at Moon. And i told him, it is nonsense for number of reasons and explained him, that if you come up with stupidiest idea you can imagine, there will be always someone, who will trust you. And these kind of people will try to spread this bullshit among other idiots and they will be fighting for it anytime and anywhere

There are.

And yes, duntez is kind of pro-Russian but with a key difference from most here. Duntez was born in Crimea and still has family from there. His family was brought up during the Soviet times so that, in a nutshell, helps me understand it better. I don't know if he's ethnically Russian, but some would argue that most Ukrainians from Crimea and eastern Ukraine are, in some way, shape or form. And he's not pro-Putin but he's very anti-UA government. He does not approve of this invasion nor is he pro-war.

I don't want to speak for him but I have talked to him at length about this. I respect his perspective since he is one of the few people actually from the area. He is also a good guy overall. He's one of the few "pro-Russian" people that I can have a civil conversation with about most of this, so that goes a long way with me.

The only other person who is from the area and has "skin in the game" so to speak is byla. She is Ukrainian and her father was involved in the previous fighting, although I don't know all the details of her story and don't want to speak for her either... but she is also pro-Russian.

I try my damnedest to remember just because someone is pro-Russian doesn't make them a bad person. Just as I would hope they would know that just because I'm an American, westerner or "pro-Ukrainian" that I am not a bad person. All of us were raised the way we were raised... and none of us can do anything about that.

All the other pro-Russian people here currently remain in the background for the most part. There have been several banned for trolling and misinformation.

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread VIII

Ukrainerussiareport went private on Reddit. Usually go there for RU POV and here for UKR. Where to get the Russian videos now ?
I have had some things going on in life lately that have prevented me from posting content at all. But here are the pro-Russian sources I have on Telegram if you're interested in seeing footage from a Russian perspective. I welcome anyone to start posting Russian footage as we definitely have a void in that respect here on the site. As I've said many times, showing both sides is very important regardless of how anyone feels about it.

I have spent over a year curating my sources for this conflict. All sources should be taken with a grain of salt (sometimes a dump truck). While I have seen some shady shit on these sources, they've proven to be the most reliable I have found to date.

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread VIII

I'm still of the opinion that Pootin will eventually get all the land east of the river or else it will degenerate into something much worse Id like to think if it happened he would stop there but the man just does not seem to give a fuck.. it's not his kids getting blown to bits and the RU public seem quite happy supporting him in what seems almost blind trust. Sanctions don't seem to have much affect and with the support from Iran and the North Koreans who knows whats to come in the next year.

Hes about to draft another 150k young lads into the meat grinder. I think hes reaching an age where he simple has to fear hell be dead in a few years anyway so why not go out in a blast saying fuck you to the world.
a dangerous scary man.

If he got the land he wants do you guys think he would stop there or carry on ?.

If he got the land, then i guess he would stop for a few years and rearm. Then, he could go after the Baltics and Moldova. Russian population has been brainwashed into war mentality and its hard to shake it off. The population itself will start to demand more war against the mythological "evil west".

Re: Russian/Ukraine War Discussion Thread VIII

The Russian state’s ambition to constitute itself as the centre of the Eurasian polity, culture and economy. This long-term drive is missed by the focus on Putin – his ambition and his state of mind. Jane Burbank, emeritus Professor of History and Russian and Slavic studies at New York University, reminds us, “Since the 1990s, plans to reunite Ukraine and other post-Soviet states into a trans-continental superpower have been brewing in Russia. A revitalized theory of Eurasian empire informs Mr Putin’s every move”.

Indeed, ever since the collapse of the Russian Empire in 1917 a line of Russian thinkers has developed an ideology of Eurasianism. It was suppressed during the Soviet period but burst forth during perestroika in the late 1980s.

The ideology posits not just America but the whole Atlantic world as Russia’s “clash of civilizations” opponent, with Russian Orthodoxy harnessed as the glue in the geopolitical war to come. Under Putin, the themes of imperial glory and western victimisation have been elevated to centre stage across the country.

As Burbank explains, Ukraine figured in this Eurasian ideology as an obstacle from the start. Eurasian ideologists in the 1920s were already talking of “the Ukraine problem”, presenting Ukraine as excessively “individualistic” and insufficiently Orthodox. Prominent ideologists of the 1990s identified Ukrainian sovereignty as, in the words of one, a “huge danger to all of Eurasia”. Russia’s Eurasia project, he said, required, as an “absolute imperative”, total control of the whole north coast of the Black Sea.

Ukraine had to become “a purely administrative sector of the Russian centralized state”.

This is the ideology which motives Putin, which led him to declare Ukraine as “a colony with a puppet regime” on the eve of the invasion. This is the ideology which inspires and justifies his brutal war in his eyes.
