Re: Russian Invasion Ukraine Day 87/88/89/90/91/92 (May 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27th)
Nikolaev. Update: "One of the gas stations is on fire in Nikolaev. The cause of the fire was not a rocket or artillery strike, but a human factor." |

"Russian special forces soldiers in Svetlodarsk this morning. The city is taken, the cleanup is underway. The units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine left without a fight." The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine officially confirmed the loss of Svetlodarsk: "The Svetlodar Bulge is lost. Our military went out so as not to be surrounded" |

"Newsweek"s current estimated losses by Russian forces, as of 5-25-2022: 1,302 tanks, 3,194 other armored vehicles, 606 artillery systems, 201 Multiple Rocket Launchers. 93 anti-aircraft systems, 205 aircraft, 175 helicopters, 2,213 regular motor vehicles and fuel tankers, 13 naval vessels, 480 drones, 43 units of "special equipment" (Whatever those would be?), 112 cruise missiles, and 29,350 troops. |

Yeah, those are the exact numbers reported by Ukranian Govt and Telegrams so I might be a little skeptical. But either way it's very high. I couldn't find what US intelligence is estimating currently but I remember their estimate like a month ago seemed a lot more sensible than the Ukranian numbers. Either way it's disastrous. |

"At the border crossing between Poland and Ukraine, 155-mm M777A2 howitzers were spotted, on which “boxes” with radio communication and GPS equipment were installed, as well as antennas for measuring the muzzle velocity of the projectile, which now allows the Armed Forces to use M982 Excalibur corrected projectiles. We remind you that earlier absolutely on all videos of the combat use of M777 howitzers by the Ukrainian military, this equipment was absent." Sooner or later that equipement are gonna fall in another hands anyway. |

- Report that retired Russian Air Force Major General Kanamat Botashev was reportedly shot down by a shoulder-fired Stinger over western Luhansk. - If true he's the highest ranking pilot to have been killed in Ukraine. - The Su-25 shot down over Luhansk the morning of May 22nd may have been his. - In 2013 he was dismissed and retired from the air force because he crashed a Su-27 he was not cleared to fly - Original reported by BBC's Russia Service, who stated this was confirmed by former colleagues of Botashev https://www.themoscowtimes.com/2022/...russian-a77788 https://www.bbc.com/russian/features-61559430 #aircraft |
