This morning in the occupied Crimea, in Ryadianske village, there was a large-scale fire in the barracks with mobilized soldiers.

Casualties have already been confirmed.

The Krymsky Veter channel posted a video from the scene of the incident. The post specifies that the fire started at around 06:00 a.m. on Dec. 10.

Those barracks could house from several hundred to several thousand people, Serhiy Bratchuk, an Odesa Oblast military administration official, wrote on Telegram.

"At about 6 a.m. today. The barracks are on fire... There are dead and wounded people," the message reads.

There have been no comments from the Kremlin-controlled puppet "authorities" on the temporarily occupied peninsula.

Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, on Dec. 8 acknowledged the vulnerability of Crimea to attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, on Dec. 7 assured that in the spring of 2023, the Armed Forces would be in Luhansk, Donetsk, and Sevastopol.

"There will still be some difficult times, but Russia's defeat is already a settled issue, and they know it very well,” Kyrylo Budanov, chief of the Main Directorate of Intelligence (HUR) of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, said before.

A Russian army barracks housing mobilised troops in Crimea has burnt down, after it was engulfed in flames. The incident represents the latest setback for Vladimir Putin and his commanders on the peninsula. The barracks were located on a military base in Sovetskoye and were said to be home to several hundred conscripts.

Local reports say the fire started early on Saturday morning at around 6am.

Video images of the blaze showed the barracks engulfed in flames, with some reaching several metres high.

An eyewitness said: “Either something flew in, or the warriors got drunk, f***."

Various social media channels have claimed there are dead and injured, although there has been no official confirmation of casualties by the Russian military.

Crimea was illegally annexed by Vladimir Putin in 2014, after being seized by Russian troops.

The peninsula has served as a staging post to ferry ammunition and troops to Southern Ukraine, where fierce battles continue to rage.
