Normally when missiles are intercepted, their warheads detonate in the air at the time of impact. I guess those multiple detonations on the ground we all heard are just fake, right.

That was a citation of anti-Russian to his core ex high office dude. That’s all. And then not necessary is has to explode in the air. AADS rockets don’t have to hit directly the target. Instead they would blow up near by and shrapnel will do the trick. Not sure what’s the percentage on hitting small warhead compare to a bigger body but the fact it that it could damage rocket upper stage that’s I’ll cause if to fall obviously
