In Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare (the best ever), I thought it was really powerful that everybody recorded a (video) message prior to going into the conflict. For the soldiers over there (Ukraine or former Ukraine) I’d expect them to at least prepare for the worst. I think it is hell when you know you are dying while realising you cannot say goodby to anybody. So I am happy that the guy got to write the note as at least that gave him some comfort in his last moments. Maybe to prepare it in advance is bad luck? But good find anyway!

This is like the 85th time you’ve brought up the US invasion of Afghanistan. There is ZERO analog between that and Putin invading Ukraine to stoke his ego and PD his legacy.

Even after that, we didn’t choose to invade Afghanistan, despite the fact that wiping the Taliban off the face of the earth would have been wholly justified. No, we chose NOT to invade.

In an attempt to avoid a large scale unwinnable war, as war in Afghanistan has proven to be throughout history, we told the Taliban to hand over Bin Laden so we didn’t have to come in and get him.

Even when we did go in, it wasn’t to make Afghanistan part of the US. We went in to catch a criminal.
