Re: Russia/Ukraine War Discussion/thoughts Thread
Are you seriously defending what Russia is doing by stealing food and using it for political leverage? I'll flip it around. Hurt Ukraine. Start a war. At what cost? This insanity started with Russia not the other way around. I would like to remind you this is the most destructive conflict in or even near Europe since WW2. |

Re: Russia/Ukraine War Discussion/thoughts Thread
It’s okay, we have different opinions, maybe I shouldn’t have started by calling you delusional, but look at this from my point of view - NATO was basically doing same thing as soviets tried in Cuba - deploying missiles and military bases near US, if Russia didn’t stepped in now Ukraine would join NATO and have missiles and military bases 1000 kilometers away from Moscow- that’s a threat to national security. US rolled in with their Navi RU rolled in with tanks Situation is almost identical, as I wrote before, this was was inevitable, but in my opinion nato tried to corner Russia and they responded. What goes for grain - it’s war, there are no rules, I think they will try to make famine in Africa which will lead to mass migration to Europe and that will create security issues for Europe, Russia will prolong this war until winter comes, and Europe will be left without gas for heating. Keep in mind nato members in Europe is sending their military equipment to Ukraine and will stop doing so at some point, when they realize they have to leave something for themselves. Yet again it’s only my opinion. |

But NATO hurt our feelings by basing their actions on our past actions. I think the rate of alcohol consumption is playing a factor here too, one side is a little more rational.

Re: Russia/Ukraine War Discussion/thoughts Thread
"nato tried to corner Russia and they responded." I'm sure in their extreme paranoid minds they believe that. We freaked out when the Russians put nukes in Cuba. But we didn't invade Cuba en masse and shell their cities indiscriminately killing civilians because we felt "threatened". And we don't even have nukes in Ukraine, that didn't happen. And the whole nukes/bio weapons labs in Ukraine manure is almost as ridiculous as the WMD's claim that the Bush administration made when invading Iraq. I say almost as ridiculous because Saddam did use chemical/nerve agents on the Kurds in the 80's. But that's another can of worms... |

Re: Russia/Ukraine War Discussion/thoughts Thread
US didn’t invaded Cuba because Khrushchev came to agreement with US, soviets pulled out nukes, US promised not to invade - that was the deal. NATO can try similar route, written agreement that Ukraine will not become part of nato and I am sure Russians would pull back, but let’s be realistic - it’s not what nato wants ;-) we both know that. What goes for civilians - in every war known to men most victims were civilians, it’s just what war is. |

Again, I’m saying that closing supply line to Russian enclave Kaliningrad with hundreds thousands of its citizens will only escalate. Migs, arta w/e west sending is absolutely differ from isolation Kaliningrad Region. This is whole new level of escalation. I don’t understand how you don’t see it? And talking about WHATABOUTISM? |
