And most importantly Cartels can be reasoned with. Their motivation is like many of us.... money.... so a deal can be made with no bloodshed.

Would have preferred they used tear gas instead (or a powerful but non-lethal variant of it, because, after all, there are hostages still down there) but that is a powerful and awesome image - pumping the limitless supply of water from the sea into those tunnels with such force that it just destroys any bulkheads that ha(te)mas put up, finding its way through the tunnel complexes and flushing them out like rodents. Now wakes the sea.

Re: ISRAEL/PALESTINE Conflict Footage: 5-8 December 2023
Source - "At the same time as the commanders of the Northern Gaza Brigade were eliminated, the commander of the Beit Lahia Battalion, the commander of the Central Jabaliya Battalion, the commander of the Sabra Battalion, the commander of the Shati Battalion, the commander of the Darj Tafah Battalion and the commander of the Sheja'ia Battalion were killed. Due to the damage to the command avenue, the functioning of the Northern Gaza Brigade was significantly affected. The Sabra battalion was significantly damaged and in addition to the battalion commander, commanders in the central command avenue were eliminated and infrastructure and the battalion headquarters were put out of use. In the sector of the Shati Battalion, IDF forces took control of central strongholds. In addition, the head of the anti-tank in the brigade, the head of the air formation and the head of the naval formation were eliminated." Some good info on the HAMAS leadership deaths |

Re: ISRAEL/PALESTINE Conflict Footage: 5-8 December 2023
The footage could have been real, but those are two different videos spliced together. The volume of water that is coming down from above is clearly not enough to fill up that tunnel at the speed of which it is shown. From an engineering perspective, that's just water coming in at best, a little higher pressure than being gravity fed. It would take multiple minutes to fill up the part of the tunnel you can see on this video with that volume of incoming water. But, it could definitely legit be someone trapped in there drowning and just spliced out the couple minutes of terror while they watched the tunnel fill up. As a side note, one of my friends is a commercial diver. He said he's almost drown twice, once they had to bring him back, and that it was peaceful after the initial shock. He said he would much rather drown than get killed by fire. |

Re: ISRAEL/PALESTINE Conflict Footage: 5-8 December 2023
I didnt even think about that, makes sense that the huge tunnel might take some time to fill. My brain just assumed there was a huge amount of water and pressure that burst through a bulkhead door and that was the initial bang sound. Makes more sense that even if there was a huge amount of water behind a door, that tunnel has a bunch of volume that would have to fill first. Cheers EDIT*****- I just watched an IDF report that said its specialized pumps shipped into the port of Gaza can fill an Olympic sized swimming pool in just seven minutes. Which is 1500 gallons a second, which is insane. So they can put out some volumes of water, excited to see what footage comes out |

Re: ISRAEL/PALESTINE Conflict Footage: 5-8 December 2023
I guess latter argument. Cause they're formally soldiers, even if just non-combat ones which never got gun or combat training. Hamas probably wants thousands of released murderers and terrorists for every of these 18/19 year old IDF lookout girls. Capturing these was probably like a jackpot for Hamas. Something Israel can't do, I assume. I also don't think they rape their valuable hostages, somehow unlikely imho. They did it once for an abducted recruit couple of years back and the consequence was Oct 7th. Since one of the released back then is the current Hamas military chief, which planned all this. |

*****Child Warning***** Just an update on our favorite reporter, it appears he is at the Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis. This vid is of him filming a strike aftermath and riding to the hospital. Interesting enough, there is actually a livestream setup on Reuters Youtube of the same Hospital in Khan Younis. I think they do a few hours each day of the hospital entrance. Link is below if anyone is interested. You can see the overhang and steps to the left in the stream and the reporter video. |
