Apparently Hamas declared they were going to fire their most powerful weapons at Haifa, which a northern port. These are in the old telegram sites I handed out already but I didn't see the video here.

Plus another video I downloaded from there of lots of people I assume are Gazans. (It could just be Israelies getting on a bus on a Friday night to get home....)

When muslims talk about how it's a peaceful and tolerant religion they are blatantly lying. It worked until people started reading and translating the koran and social media etc. They are allowed to lie, anything to forward the Islamic cause of making the entire world Muslim.

I don't know his back story ... I could only assume he was brainwashed, Israel put him in prison and he was granted asylum somewhere. I'm only speculating. Could look it up right now but..... Meh

A lot of the tanks now and this Merkava specifically, have what's called blow out panels on the top above the ammo storage compartment, so that when something like this does happen from the top, almost all of the explosion is directed up and outside of the tank. That mortar round could have easily penetrated the blow out panel if it actually hit it and they would have publicized the video 100% if they actually did anything other than destroy some of the crew's gear. I'm absolutely certain the concussion was not pleasant for the crew, but doubt it did anything beyond cosmetic damage.

Almost the entire top of the turret where the crew operates is very thin, then the panels over the back of the hull covering the engine are also thin, so pretty much any mortar round or RPG that comes in contact with the top of the tank is going to penetrate and do damage. This crew really lucked out that it hit the gear instead.

Merkava engine is in the front for additional crew protection against ground/shoulder fired AT and IED weapons that they most frequently encounter with a rear escape hatch to bail under cover when disabled. They are designed for urban combat and counter insurgency, not quite the same role and purpose as a M1 being a MBT to fight peer powers with actual armies.

You often can't take out modern tanks with AT grenates dropping from drones. You'd need alot luck to hit the right spot like air intakes or something, even than you just disable it. Since we see no follow up smoke or explosion, its probably just cosmetic damage and lost loose equipment which is often stored there in bins.

Not much is getting through a modern tank that isn't a kinetic penetrator or shaped plasma jet unless you have a very large HE warhead, eg 100s of lbs. Mortars make poor AT weapons, they are mostly indirect HE frag.

Cope cages are OK for the primitive RPG style weapons Israel faces but are useless against modern barrier blind smart weapons and tandem shaped penetrators. Aka Javelin. These have a IR array imager and computer with range to target and target profiling features and other telemetry, much more sophisticated than crude contact and proximity triggers. For starters grills and meshes are going to be basically invisible vs the high contrast thermal signature of the high density tank. And there is always the direct attack mode.

Israel will have much better success detonating or trapping RPGs and mortars than Russia had with Javelins.

Both the hamas leaders snitch boy and the ultra orthodox are extreme outsiders.

But there is a enormous difference:
these ultra orthodox maintain views and religion,
but that hamas snitch son has changed opinions, switched sides and home(land) just as often as daily underwear. some blackmail could have been involved, causing weird turn arounds.

This is the first time anyone has posted satellite x-ray images of a building, isn't it? Knew it existed, but haven't seen it previously....

Also curious on what the real resolution of it is since they pixelate it for public release to make it look lower resolution.
