You can't just walk away and leave a power vacuum. The most brutal, ruthless group will come to power and in that part of the world it's almost always Islamic militants.

As far as I'm concerned if Libya, Iraq and Afghanistan don't perfectly illustrate this concept I don't know what it would take.
We spent trillions of dollars, killed hundreds of thousands of people, lost thousands of our servicemen, and we're no better off for it..... In fact, probably worse now than before.

Which brings me back to their country = their problem.
They've shown us repeatedly they don't want our democracy so fuck them, they can find their own solution.
