ISIS Destroy M1A1 Abrams Tank Iraq

I'm afraid I would have to know more.........The M1A1 Abrams has a seal door for the ammo compartment. I have seen the film of the compartment being detonated, along with video from inside the tank showing what happens to the inside of the turret. The answer is "Absolutely Nothing" There isn't even a puff of smoke on the inside of the tank while what you see going on there is happening.
I would want an Abrams crew member to pass review on this video. I think it is either a U.S. discarded tank that was set up for filming, or maybe just a dummy built for the film. For one thing, I don't see ANY reaction at all from the reactive armor on the tank. That is the first line of defense, and the initial missile or shot never even gets close to the skin of the tank. If they can hit the EXACT same spot again, they have a possibility of penetrating it, but otherwise, the odds are so high, it's virtually impossible. I know that a few Abrams have been destroyed by IED bombs, but I haven't heard of one yet destroyed with any kind of shell or anti-tank weapon.

glad you mentioned the reactive armor. From what i read this video is legit. Its a russian made device that was shot at it. It has double warheads meaning one blows a hole in it, the other goes inside and fucks shit up. With that being said, this was an early abrams tank given or sold to iraq, it doesnt possess the reactive armor or the active defense systems the newer ones have.

This happened at the "Qayyarah Crossroads south of Mosul" on the 23rd. They used a TOW, a ATGM these are being taken left and right as ghanimah from FSA groups in Syria and Kurdish groups (Pesh in Iraq, YPG in Syria). Anyone who pays close attention to Syria and Iraq knows these are very, very common in both theaters (here is a compilation of TOW strikes from Syria in just a small 14 day period in early June ).

And on the subject of reactive armor, there is a video from February FSA using a TOW on a Russian T-90, successfully hitting the T-90 and impacting the Kontakt-5 explosive reactive armor, leaving the tank pretty much intact. It looked nothing like what happened here.

You got that right. That was a blast pattern from plastic explosives, not a rocket or missile. ISIS propaganda was as real as Nazi propaganda from WW II.
