Ukrainian sniper Olena Bilozerska targeting enemy forces with the help of thermal optics.

Some background info on her:

Bilozerska is a Ukrainian journalist, blogger and public figure, officer in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In 2014, she went to fight in eastern Ukraine as a volunteer with the Right Sector and the Ukrainian Volunteer Army, where she earned a reputation as a deadly sharpshooter and sniper.

In 2018, Olena attended Officer Training Courses at the I. Chernyakhovsky National Defence University of Ukraine, majoring in Artillery, and subsequently signed a contract with the Armed Forces.

In 2018-2020, she served as an artillery platoon commander in the 503rd Separate Navy Infantry Battalion. On October 13, 2018 she was awarded the Order For Courage, III degree. Olena is currently a reserve officer in the Armed Forces of Ukraine

I was told by my neighbor, who just attended activation exercises for their A-10 squadron in Las Vegas, that they did not even bring back their aircraft after their final checks. They returned to Tucson as a group, to bring up another active group of A-10's to operational status. The group of aircraft that is now fully operational was left in place in LV, ready to move out, while they are back in Tucson, working to get another flight of A-10 aircraft up to speed and fully operational for deployment.
I am hoping Putin doesn't start a war, but if he does, I hope he regrets it.

I think you AND your Russian friends will be very surprised.
I live in Tucson, Arizona, which is a big Air Force Base town, with Davis-Monthan AFB. I know a LOT of fighter pilots. The vast majority are of the opinion that 24 hours after the U.S. goes into action, there will not be a single Russian aircraft of any type still airborne. None of them seem to be apprehensive in the least.
I guess it will depend on how stupid Putin is.
