Sightseeing Helicopter, Robinson R44, Crashes in Chongqing
A tragic incident unfolded in Southwest China's Chongqing on Monday afternoon when a sightseeing helicopter, carrying four individuals, crashed. The Robinson R44 helicopter with the registration number B-7502 was under the ownership of Shandong Qixiang General Aviation Company. The mishap occurred during a trial flight conducted by the pilots near Shizhu Huangshui Forest Park. At approximately 5:30 p.m., disaster struck as the helicopter crashed onto a road in Shizhu county, part of the Chongqing municipality. Fortunately, the impact resulted in only minor injuries to one of the pilots, as reported by local authorities. Remarkably, there were no further reports of damage or casualties stemming from the incident. Preliminary information suggests that the accident transpired when the helicopter was flying at a low altitude, leading its rotor to collide with streetlights, subsequently causing a loss of control over the aircraft. ![]() ![]() |
