If you grab one and hold it down the butt end comes swinging around and the stinger comes out like a tattoo needle. I don't know how I avoided getting stung. But it would sure make my adrenaline go shooting up. It's a real rush.

I never considered there were more than one species of Tarantula Hawk Wasp. I didn't even know they were related. The large one I knew was a Tarantula Hawk but the smaller ones I had no idea. They really give me the creeps to see them in action. I have seen them also eating honey when they get a chance.
