In this adorable capture by Randy Kokesch, we see a baby Musk Ox that is a mere few weeks old.
The muskox (Ovibos moschatus) is an Arctic mammal of the family Bovidae, noted for its thick coat and for the strong odor emitted by males, from which its name derives. This musky odor is used to attract females during mating season. Muskoxen primarily live in the Canadian Arctic and Greenland with small introduced populations in Sweden, Siberia, Norway, and Alaska.
According to National Geographic, female muskox carry their calves during an eight-month pregnancy, but after birth there infants are able to keep up with their mothers and the rest of the herd within a few hours.

Nice now, but many tourists in Norway have had a too close approach to the adults, misinterpreted their calm appearence. They are very protectiv against this little cuties. Norway had to reinstate the population after the WWII and now they have concered some new areas in Sweden as well, due to inbreeding the swedes had to bring in some new blood a couple years ago.
