WWII - Holocaust - Stamsried (Atrocity/Massacre?)
All I know if these are taken in Stamsried Germany. Anyone know the details?

Not a well documented area is Stamsreid as far as the Holocaust goes. From what I remember reading I don't think there was a massacre as such - just the usual death march scenario - some just die from exhaustion, etc, others are shot for the hell of it. It was in Stamsried the 151st Armoured Signal Division (part of the 11th Armored Division) witnessed the surrendering of the Hungarian forces (as well as the death march.) Mess and his men shared their food and vehicle rations with the victims of the SS. That's all I can give ya.  |
