Re: Would Your Wife/husband Stay If...

It's gotta be very difficult to look at the man she fell in love with with his completely altered features, but true love knows no boundries and this woman truly does love this man because if it was based solely on physical appearance this wouldn't have happened. I've heard of a few stories of soldiers who literally had their faces mangled in war and their fiances left them at first site. Beautiful post and best to them.

Re: Would Your Wife/husband Stay If...

Thank you. War is an essential part of freedom, without soldiers like this, you and I and the poster that mentioned that he is evil and a murderer would not be "free" as we know it today. My uncle died in Iraq in 2004 fighting for MY freedom as well as yours and the ungratefull poster. Thank you for calling him out. Some people dont understand the qualities of freedom untill freedom is no longer a right. Please see my post about my uncle, you can find it by searching "uncle died in iraq in 2004"

It's wonderful when someone finds the right one. As a veteran of Viet Nam, I saw many not so lucky. What's with Alfa.First.one? Sounds as if he's been a little sheltered and spoiled.

Yeah, but no offence, how does your uncle dying in Iraq have anything to do with your freedom?

EXCELLENT post. I totally agree. I am ex-military and while I joined primarily for money for college I fully believed in what I was fighting for. Not to minimize this war but when I was in it was at the height of the Cold War and we constantly trained in NBC Gear (Nuclear Bioligical Chemical) gear and there are few things more uncomfortable then wearing a damn rubber body glove for a week.

I joined knowing that eventually I might have to kill someone or lose my life in defending freedom. That was a risk I was not only willing to take but was PROUD to take.

People like you Uncle are heroes and ANY military personnel who fought in a war should be treated with respect and courtesy.

People may not agree with the reasons for war but they need to respect the people fighting the war.
