The Falling Man Photo From 911
Photographer Richard Drew captured a man falling head-first from the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York at 9:41:15 a.m. EDT on September 11, 2001. Drew photographed from West and Vesey streets and made a sequence of 12 frames. The best-known image shows the man inverted against the vertical lines of the towers, with his body nearly straight and one knee bent. The photograph became known as "The Falling Man." It was published the next day but withdrawn after criticism from readers. The man has never been officially identified. Norberto Hernandez, a pastry chef at Windows on the World, was initially proposed, but his family rejected that identification after viewing the full sequence. Jonathan Briley, a 43-year-old sound engineer at the restaurant, was later proposed based on his build and an orange undershirt visible in the photographs. Members of Briley's family reportedly recognized him, but no official confirmation followed.

Re: The Falling Man Photo From 911
i saw a tv show with other snapshots of his fall... he was struggling and flailing about... this picture gives the illusion of a calm free-fall... but when you see a few pictures it shows a very different moment in time.
