World Class Aquascaping
Since the contest is coming up soon and one guy from a site I mod is going to enter I wanted to check out the last couple years of winners. I was thinking of aquascaping my tank somewhat like this but these guys are all world class pros at this. Since the hamster tank got some cool posts thought you would all like to check this out. I'll try to find the reverse waterfall method in practice cause it looks cool as hell!!

dude, we are on the same wavelength, I was going up and down the internets checking out aquariums lately. Plan on doing a freshwater 55. worked pet shop, so I know to just say no to saltwater tanks - you need to be a rocket scientist to maintain them, and even when you do it right, the fish are still in the most unhealthy environment for them to live in, outside a fishermans net, or bucket. |

Re: World Class Aquascaping
Actually man if you have a nano tank(20 gallon) with some good live rock it pretty much takes care of itself. There are a couple of other concepts to master but once you get that down your golden. Most people think it's a lot more work overall when it's only the beginning stage is more work. Tge thing it is mOre than though is money. A fuckload more money. That same nano tank if it was f/w would be 200 bucks the s/w versiOn would be around 1000 both without stock. I just have a Manueli piranha but after having 6 tanks one is good enough. Too bad you don't live closer I got a 60 gallon I'm giving away.

Re: World Class Aquascaping
yeah, i think 'rocket science' was a little much...still hell on the fish. this is as close to saltwater i would go, but i don't know if i really want to be doing chiclids, too agressive and destructive. <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/M-nEkOwSNGY?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/M-nEkOwSNGY?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object> ^ just put a piece of decorative (real) sea-coral in the tank, and the colors will be about as bright as saltwater, due to the residual salt making the water slightly brackish, which is similar to their natural habitat. |
