"Tumbling Woman": Censored 9/11 Statue
The image below is of "Tumbling Woman," a statue in Rockefeller Center done by Eric Fischl to commemorate those who on 9/11 jumped or fell to their deaths from the World Trade Center. It was censored on 9/18/2002 because of complaints that it was too disturbing. |

i thought the whole point of art was to create something to stir the soul emotionally / spiritually etc .. the complainers are no doubt the snotty small minded few of the P.C brigade, bleating on about hurt feelings of family members, and not taking into account the bigger picture of what this might represent to a nation as a whole .. on the other hand they might just think it's shit |
