Re: Testing Safety Equipment.
Kayo, I love a good adrenaline rush myself, but I get it a different way. When I was 18, I was helping take down a 4 story building. The foreman got on my ass because I was not wearing a saftey harness. I was a little annoyed by him because I was in the "know it all" stage of life still. Little did I know the man bitching at me would save my life. Had I not been wearing that harness, I would have fell about 55 feet on to metal and concrete. Now, I am terrified of heights ! I honestly can't see doing something like the man in that video. 1000 feet to fall with only a rope to hold you from certain death ? Nah, I'll pass. |

Re: Testing Safety Equipment.
I saw a guy fall 50 stories off some scaffolding, right into a generator vestibule. It happened right at the hospital, and no one could save him, of course. The funny thing was, the guy told OSHA that he was wearing a harness, but had unhooked it to climb to the next floor. They had to bandage his head together before they pulled him up. Ever since then, I have not liked heights. |
