Starving Child and the Vulture Photograph
The photo is the “Pulitzer Prize” winning photo taken in 1994 during the Sudan Famine. The picture depicts stricken child crawling towards an United Nations food camp, located a kilometer away. The fundamentalist Arab, Muslim military government of Sudan has been waging a war against their black and non-Muslim south. Perhaps 2,000,000 have been killed in the war and resulting famine, much of which has been purposely caused by government destruction of food sources, including the bombing of wells and relief supplies.

Re: Starving Child and the Vulture Photograph
"However, he also came under heavy criticism for just photographing — and not helping — the little girl." "I am depressed ... without phone ... money for rent ... money for child support ... money for debts ... money!!! ... I am haunted by the vivid memories of killings and corpses and anger and pain ... of starving or wounded children, of trigger-happy madmen, often police, of killer executioners...I have gone to join Ken if I am that lucky." All I'm going to say is everything you do comes back to you. |

Re: Starving Child and the Vulture Photograph
So tell Amnesty International and the U.N. to get off their asses and do something there. Shit like that happens on a daily basis in Africa and everyone turns a blind eye to it. I think that line in Primeval put it best. Something like... "People don't give a fuck about black on black crime around the corner from their house, what makes you think they give a shit about what happens 3000 miles away in Africa?" Yet the U.S. is sooooooooooo evil for making some terrorists play naked Twister all the while feeding them 3 square meals a day. |
